lqb2weekly (special edition): liberation tarot kickstarter!
friends, fam, community,
today the kickstarter for the liberation tarot deck is live!
if you’ve been around these lqb2weekly streets for a while, you’ve seen me share over the last couple of years bits and pieces of this project in its evolution. if you’re new here, let me fill you in:
liberation tarot is a new tarot deck that aims to bring Spiritual and revolutionary practice together. for some people, tarot is a strictly personal tool. nothing wrong with that; that is not us. with this deck, we hope to bridge the personal, the political, old wisdom and visionary possibility.
this is by no means the first deck to do this. some decks i think this deck is in conversation with include slow holler, next world, and dust ii onyx. there are plenty more. i hope this deck is an offering to folks who find themselves dancing/fighting/resting at the intersection of Spirit, that which connects us all, and revolution, the work of making and remaking ourselves and our world(s).
i could say so much more but for now, i have two asks:
if you work with tarot or are close to folks who do, read through the kickstarter and buy a deck and any of the special goodies curated to go with deck! there’s LOTS of excellent goodies/rewards (including some tarot readings from me)
if you are not a tarot enthusiast, give the kickstarter a quick skim and share it with anyone or anywhere you think it would resonate. we’d love to get it into as many of our folks’ hands as possible! people that might resonate with it:
witchy/magical people of all genders
people who love anti-oppression anything
social justice folks whose spirituality informs their work
anyone who you think of as loving “woo'“
a few other cute thoughts:
the cards were designed by 30+ artists and the booklet is a magical creation with words from adrienne maree brown, elicia epstein, emet ezell (wrote all the card descriptionssss), and lil ole me!
there’s an option to buy a deck and/or donate one to someone who is incarcerated. if you’re not into tarot but wanna pay for someone else’s deck, plz do.
sharing it with people can look like: posting the link on social media, sending the link directly to a friend or group thread, bringing it up in a team meeting, and more. please help me share this around. we aren’t aiming for it to be huge; we just want to make sure people who would love it, see it. even just 1 or 2 shares with the right folks is better than a mass blast to mostly uninterested peoples, ya know?
anywhooooooo, we are super excited for this to be out in the world. hopefully you check it out and will soon be as excited as we are!
